Dublin Scioto Irish Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-2 loss to Tallmadge on Monday. Tallmadge scored on a home run by Luke Thomas, a single by Joe Ellis, and a double by Jake Reifsnyder in the first inning.
The Dublin Scioto Irish Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Tallmadge, giving up 13 runs.
In the first inning, Tallmadge got their offense started when Thomas hit a solo homer.
Brandon Golubski was credited with the victory for Tallmadge. He surrendered two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out two. Andrew Ayres threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Nash Densel took the loss for Dublin Scioto Irish Varsity. He surrendered six runs on five hits over one-third of an inning, walking one.
Braytton Krock, Chris Schaefer, Densel, Chad Ray, and Andrew Whetstone each collected one hit to lead Dublin Scioto Irish Varsity.
Tallmadge scattered 15 hits in the game. Eyre, Todd Bangston, Golubski, and Reifsnyder each managed multiple hits for Tallmadge. Eyre led Tallmadge with four hits in five at bats.
